these sweet little birds were inspired by the family of swallows that build their nest every year in the hallway at my school. i love how they swoop in and out bringing in bits of this and that to add to their nest.
this painting is a bit of what motherhood feels like to me. the teeny bird here seems to be bringing back a little wish to share, and the mama bird watches on lovingly.
the painting has bits and pieces of italian newspapers and vintage letters and at the bottom reads, "tesaro" (treasure).
they have flown over to my shop to dream up some very special wishes of their own.
